Grey Mouse Farm History:

In the early 1800's, the original owner was a lawyer from New York who married his secretary, who was prematurely Grey. He loved her very much and called her his "little Grey Mouse". When she died in childbirth, he named the farm after her, Grey Mouse Farm, and opened the farm in the summers to under-privileged children. He established a "fresh air fund" of sorts before it was in existence and Grey Mouse Farm became a summer camp for city kids!

The mother/daughter team, Sallie & Kathy Kreda, began this business after a banner season which produced more fruits and vegetables than they could eat or give away. Canning was the natural and logical next step for the remaining fruits and vegetables. Sallie, born in 1929, learned to can as a child - back then if you didn't can, you didn't eat! Being a gourmet cook, she began to win local festivals and our Marinated Garlic and other award winners are the result. Sallie is now retired but the tradition continues with Kathy & the micettes!

Grey Mouse Farm & Products:

Grey Mouse farm is located off Route 32 in Saugerties, NY. The little mice, as we like to refer to ourselves, work year-round to grow, package, and market the delicious preserves, garlics, pickles and the rest of the line. The Products are made the old-fashioned way .. with love and care. Each season, the orchards produce exactly what is canned. The number of cases are not predetermined nor extended through the use of fillers like corn syrup and other ingredients. Grey Mouse products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.

Grey Mouse has a local reputation for some of the best Garlics around! The Saugerties Garlic Festival launched our line and the rest is history! The Marinated Garlics are our best-sellers for a reason. They are the BEST!! :-) The Mustards are unique in both character and flavor. While the Horseradish quickly became a favorite amongst customers, who made it our #1 selling mustard, the Garlic Mustard is delicate yet robust; blending the aroma of garlic with fine mustard. The pickles are scrumptious and the Bread and Buter Pickles are ... yes, you guessed it! another 1st Prize Winner!
